Effective Date: March 13, 2026
Last Updated: March 13, 2026PL8PAL (“PL8PAL,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Daniel Rael, an individual developer.PL8PAL is a utility-first, community-powered parking intelligence app designed to help users look up plate-related parking history, submit structured parking behavior reports, and submit place-linked incident reports in a privacy-conscious way. PL8PAL’s launch model is intentionally structured and conservative, not a freeform accusation board or public identity exposure tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have.If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, contact us at [email protected].1. ScopeThis Privacy Policy applies to the PL8PAL mobile app, the PL8PAL website, and any related services, communications, or support interactions that link to or reference this Privacy Policy.2. What PL8PAL DoesPL8PAL is designed as a utility-first parking intelligence platform. Depending on product availability, users may be able to:
• look up plate-related parking history and limited trust or reputation signals
• submit structured parking behavior reports
• submit structured, place-linked incident reports
• save plates, lots, or alerts
• receive notifications and other app-related updatesAt launch, PL8PAL is designed to keep public content structured, conservative, and moderation-safe. Public comments, public accusation text, and public photos are not part of the default public launch model. Incident reports are treated as reported incidents or observed issues, not proven blame. 3. Information We CollectWe may collect the following categories of information.Account and Profile InformationWhen you create or use an account, we may collect your username, email address, authentication identifiers, profile preferences, and support information you provide to us.Report and Submission InformationWhen you use PL8PAL features, we may collect information tied to reports and lookups, including plate information you enter, scan, or correct; parking behavior report selections; incident report selections; approximate event time; lot or place information; severity or confidence selections; visibility settings; and edit or correction history. PL8PAL’s current product design includes structured parking reports and structured incident reports, with incidents being place-linked first and only optionally plate-linked. OCR and Scan InformationIf you use scan or camera-based features, we may collect raw OCR output, normalized or corrected plate text, scan confidence information, and scan-related metadata. PL8PAL’s launch rules contemplate storing both raw OCR output and corrected plate text to support fairness review, correction handling, and scan-quality improvement. Photos and MediaIf photo upload is enabled, we may collect photos submitted with reports, image metadata, and moderation or visibility status associated with that media. At launch, submitted photos are not public by default and are intended primarily for private attachment, moderation, or evidence support. Device, Technical, and Usage InformationWe may collect device identifiers, app version, operating system, IP address, crash logs, session logs, diagnostics, rate-limit signals, and basic usage analytics.Location and Place InformationWe may collect lot, place, approximate location, and nearby context used to power product features. Public-facing surfaces may show less location detail than we use internally. PL8PAL’s launch rules are designed so that public plate history shows lot-level context, while more granular zone-level detail may remain internal or otherwise non-public. Saved Items, Alerts, and PreferencesIf you use save, follow, or alert-related features, we may collect saved plates, saved lots, alert preferences, notification settings, and interactions with alerts. Saved plates, saved lots, and alerts are part of the planned product architecture and retention model. Purchase and Entitlement InformationIf PL8PAL offers paid features now or later, we may collect subscription status, entitlement status, transaction identifiers, purchase timestamps, and feature access records. Current planning keeps core utility free and reserves deeper history, richer alerts, and expanded lot intelligence for possible Pro features later. 4. How We Use InformationWe may use information we collect to:
• operate, maintain, and improve PL8PAL
• create and manage accounts
• process structured parking behavior and incident reports
• power plate history, lot intelligence, nearby intelligence, and alert features
• support OCR, scan confirmation, and correction workflows
• allow users to edit eligible submissions within product limits
• detect duplicates, spam, abuse, burst behavior, and manipulative targeting
• moderate content and enforce product rules
• investigate disputes, complaints, safety issues, and misuse
• personalize product experiences and preferences
• communicate with users
• monitor performance and reliability
• comply with legal obligations
• protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, the service, and the publicThese uses align with PL8PAL’s launch moderation and anti-abuse design, which prioritizes privacy, structure, and resistance to pile-ons or defamation-style misuse. 5. Public vs. Private InformationThis section is important.PL8PAL is designed to reduce unnecessary identity exposure and limit sensitive public display.Anonymous-by-Default ReportingReports may be anonymous by default. Depending on product settings, you may be able to choose whether your username is shown on a report. Identity ProtectionsPL8PAL is not intended to publicly display a reporter’s first or last name in connection with reports. PL8PAL also does not intend to publicly expose victim identity, and exact uploader identity should not be broadly public by default. Public Plate History LimitsPublic surfaces may show limited utility-focused context, such as lot-level location context. PL8PAL is designed not to expose overly precise private-location history for a plate beyond what is necessary for utility. PhotosAt launch, submitted photos are not public by default. Photos may be visible to the submitting user and to authorized moderators or administrators for review and enforcement purposes. Public users cannot view submitted photos by default. Structured Public Content OnlyAt launch, PL8PAL may limit public-facing content to structured report types, aggregated counts, and conservative reputation signals. Public comments, notes, and freeform accusation text are not part of the launch model. 6. Reputation and Incident HandlingPL8PAL may display limited reputation, history, and trend signals derived from structured reports.Incident reports are treated as reported incidents or observed issues, not verified findings of fault or blame. A plate may be optionally associated with an incident report, but that does not mean PL8PAL has verified that a particular person, driver, or owner caused the event. Incident reports do not directly affect a plate’s public reputation at launch. PL8PAL’s reputation model is designed to be conservative. Plates with only a small number of qualifying reports may show limited signal only, and stronger labels such as repeat-offender status are intended to require multiple negative reports over time and multiple unique reporters. 7. When We Share InformationWe may share information in the following circumstances:Service ProvidersWe may share information with third-party vendors and service providers that help us operate PL8PAL, such as providers for hosting, cloud storage, authentication, database infrastructure, analytics, notifications, moderation tooling, and customer support. These providers may process information on our behalf in connection with operating, securing, and improving the Services. We may change service providers from time to time as the product evolves.Legal, Safety, and Enforcement ReasonsWe may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or lawful request; enforce our terms or policies; investigate fraud, harassment, abuse, or security issues; or protect the rights, property, safety, or integrity of PL8PAL, users, or others.Business TransfersIf PL8PAL is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law. With Your DirectionWe may share information when you direct us to do so or when sharing is inherent to a feature you choose to use.We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of selling user data to data brokers for cash.8. RetentionWe retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the service, maintain platform integrity, support moderation, resolve disputes, comply with law, and enforce our policies.Examples may include:
• account information retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward
• report and moderation records retained to support platform safety, abuse prevention, and review
• OCR data retained to support correction history, fairness review, and scan-quality improvement
• uploaded photos retained internally for a limited period, such as up to 30 days, and removed sooner if flagged, invalidated, deleted, or no longer neededPL8PAL’s current launch rules also contemplate that flagged photos may be hidden immediately, reviewed within a short moderation window, and removed automatically if not approved to remain. Deleted or invalid reports may trigger associated media deletion. We may also retain aggregated or de-identified data for analytics, product improvement, safety, and operational purposes where permitted by law.9. User Choices, Correction, and DeletionDepending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access certain information, correct certain information, request deletion of your account or certain content, manage notification preferences, and manage username visibility or report visibility settings where available.PL8PAL’s launch rules are designed to allow users to correct OCR misreads and edit eligible reports during a limited edit window, currently planned as 30 minutes after submission. We may deny or limit requests where retention is necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, moderation integrity, dispute resolution, safety review, or protection of the service and other users. To submit a privacy-related request, contact [email protected].10. Moderation, Fairness, and Abuse PreventionWe use information to help keep PL8PAL safe, reliable, and fair. This may include detecting and responding to duplicate submissions, spam, burst abuse, manipulative targeting, attempts to expose identities, and attempts to misuse structured reporting as accusation or harassment. As part of moderation, PL8PAL may hide, remove, flag, review, or exclude certain reports or content from public display or scoring. Hidden, moderated, removed, or excluded reports may remain visible in some internal contexts without influencing the public score. 11. SecurityWe use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and using PL8PAL in a reasonably secure manner.12. If you believe a child has provided personal information to PL8PAL, contact us at [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and address the issue. If a different age threshold applies under applicable law in your jurisdiction, PL8PAL will comply with that law.13. State Privacy Rights and Other Legal RightsDepending on where you live, you may have privacy rights under applicable law, including rights to access, delete, correct, or obtain information about how your personal information is processed. We will evaluate and respond to requests in accordance with applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before responding. To make a request, contact [email protected].14. International TransfersIf PL8PAL processes information across borders, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we will take steps designed to provide appropriate safeguards for such transfers.15. Changes to This Privacy PolicyWe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the app, website, email, or other reasonable means. Depending on feature availability, the Services may allow users to look up plate-related parking history, submit structured parking behavior reports, submit place-linked incident reports, save plates or lots, receive alerts, and access related features. PL8PAL’s current design is intentionally structured and moderation-conscious rather than an open accusation or identity-exposure platform. 2. EligibilityYou must be at least 13 years old to use the Services, or older if required by the laws of your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are legally able to enter into these Terms. If you use the Services on behalf of a business or other entity, you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms.3. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the Services, or create risk for users or the platform.4. User Content and SubmissionsYou may be able to submit information through the Services, including plate data, structured parking behavior reports, structured incident reports, optional media, corrections, and other related content (“User Content”).You retain ownership of your User Content, but you give PL8PAL a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify, process, adapt, publish, display, and use that User Content as needed to operate, improve, secure, moderate, and promote the Services, subject to the Privacy Policy. This license includes the right to:
• process reports into plate history, trust signals, lot intelligence, and nearby intelligence
• review and moderate submissions
• create aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified outputs
• preserve records needed for abuse prevention, legal compliance, and platform integrity5. Rules for Reports and SubmissionsPL8PAL is designed around structured, utility-focused reporting. You agree that you will not use the Services to post or submit false, misleading, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, or privacy-invasive content. At launch, PL8PAL’s product rules specifically avoid public freeform accusations, public notes, and public photos by default, and incident reporting is intended to remain structured, neutral, and moderation-safe. You agree not to:
• submit knowingly false reports
• impersonate another person
• attempt to identify, expose, or dox users, victims, or uploaders
• use reports to target, harass, threaten, or organize pile-ons against a person or vehicle
• bypass rate limits, duplicate protections, or moderation systems
• upload malware, malicious code, or harmful files
• scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data except as expressly allowed by usPL8PAL may use duplicate protections, device burst controls, moderation flags, exclusion from scoring, temporary report locks, account restrictions, and similar controls to enforce trust and abuse-prevention rules. 6. Reporting Neutrality and No Verification GuaranteePL8PAL does not guarantee that user submissions are complete, accurate, verified, or current.Parking behavior reports and incident reports reflect reported observations and structured community submissions. Incident reports are treated as reported incidents or observed issues, not as verified findings of fault or blame. Optional plate association does not mean PL8PAL has verified that any driver, owner, or vehicle caused the event. You agree not to rely on PL8PAL as a definitive legal, law-enforcement, insurance, or ownership-identification source.7. Public Content and Platform LimitsPL8PAL may display limited history, counts, reputation signals, nearby intelligence, and lot-level summaries. PL8PAL’s public outputs are intentionally conservative, especially for low-data plates and early-stage signals. Incident reports do not directly affect public plate reputation at launch, and stronger labels such as repeat-offender status are intended to require threshold conditions rather than a single report. We may change what is public, private, visible, hidden, aggregated, delayed, or excluded at any time to protect users, comply with law, or improve the Services.8. Moderation RightsWe may review, flag, hide, remove, restrict, delay, de-rank, exclude from scoring, or otherwise moderate any account, report, photo, or other User Content at our discretion when we believe it may violate these Terms, our policies, or create legal, safety, abuse, or integrity risk. PL8PAL’s launch rules specifically contemplate hide/exclude/remove workflows and status handling such as active, edited, hidden, flagged, under review, excluded from scoring, and removed. We are not obligated to publish, maintain, or restore any submission.9. Corrections, Edits, and AppealsWhere supported, users may be allowed to edit eligible submissions for a limited period after submission, including to correct OCR misreads. PL8PAL’s current launch model contemplates a 30-minute edit window for eligible corrections. We may, but are not required to, provide internal or external appeal, review, dispute, or correction workflows. We may remove or correct submissions without notice where necessary to protect privacy, safety, or platform integrity.10. PrivacyYour use of the Services is also governed by the PL8PAL Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and share information.11. Intellectual PropertyThe Services, including the app, design, branding, text, graphics, interfaces, software, and all related content other than User Content, are owned by PL8PAL or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Services except as allowed by law or with our written permission.12. If PL8PAL offers subscriptions, entitlements, or other paid features, additional pricing and billing terms may apply at the point of purchase. Current product planning keeps core utility free and treats paid access as an expansion of depth, history, alerts, or convenience rather than a block on first-use value. Unless otherwise stated, all purchases are final to the extent allowed by law and subject to the billing rules of the platform through which you purchased.14.
